Registration Information

Within three-five business days of receiving your SLP Online welcome email, Longwood University’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department will email you your LancerNet ID, temporary password, and Longwood email address to the personal email address (bold personal email address) you provided when you complete the Application for Professional Studies. Once you’ve received your login credentials and activated your account, you will be able to access the myLongwood system to register.

How to Register for Classes

  • Click on the ‘Student’ tab click on ‘Planning and Registration’ under the Registration Tools
  • Click ‘Register for Classes'
  • Select the term
  • Once you click ‘Continue’, you will be taken to a screen that allows you to enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) directly. Access this screen by selecting the ‘Enter CRNs’ tab. If you do not have the CRN, click ‘Find Classes’. If you use the ‘Find Classes’ tab, you will search by subject ‘SLP Online’.

If you have a hold on your account, we are unable to add you to any additional courses until the hold has been resolved. Holds are typically due to a balance on your account.  Contact the Office of Student Accounts at studentaccountsoffice@longwood.edu  or by telephone at (434)395-2067 to resolve any financial holds.

If you receive the ‘Prerequisite and Test Score’ error, the course you’re seeking has a prerequisite. You will need to submit a Prerequisite Waiver Request Form. Please upload the transcript showing the successful completion of the prerequisite on the form. You can find the required prerequisites on SLP Online Course Listing

If you receive a ‘Closed Course’ error, the course you’re seeking is full. If there is no availability in another section, please submit a Closed Section Request Form. By submitting this form, you’re giving up your approval to be registered for the course, if approved. Note we will not consider an override if there are sections still open.

How to Drop a Course

  • Click on the ‘Student’ tab and click on ‘Planning and Registration’ under the Registration Tools
  • In the lower right-hand corner of your screen, you’ll see a ‘Summary’ of your courses. In order to drop, click the ‘Action’ drop-down beside the course and select ‘**Web Dropped**’
  • Confirm that the drop has been processed by accessing ‘Student Detail Schedule’ under the Registration Tools on the Student Tab

A drop processed by the add/drop deadline removes financial responsibility.

Questions regarding tuition, payments, and refunds should be directed to the Office of Student Accounts at studentaccountsoffice@longwood.edu.

If you need to drop a course but have a hold on your account (typically due to a balance on your account), please email SLPOnline@longwood.edu by the drop deadline. Be sure to include your L# and the course you’d like to drop.

How to Withdraw from a Course
