Student Opportunities
Design Lab is the student-run design agency at Longwood that offers students professional design experience, academic credits, and undergraduate research opportunities.
Serving as an in-house internship, students are given the opportunity to professionally create and produce diverse projects spanning print pieces to web and interactive products.
Student designers learn how to provide innovative solutions for clients through collaboration and critique with other students within the agency. Design Lab provides the chance for students to work with regional, state, and national organizations as well as with on-campus projects in the surrounding Farmville community.
Design Lab is open to any 2nd- semester sophomore, or above, Longwood students.
The International Longwood Animation Film Festival (iLAFF) is an annual film festival event hosted by the Graphic and Animation Design program of Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. We hope to showcase the work of animators and increase the exposure of international animation to the Longwood and Farmville communities.
For the 2024 festival, the opening night will be April 5, 2024, and will feature animated shorts viewings, a gallery opening and reception, and guest speakers.
Afterward, the shorts will run on a loop in the Bedford Gallery until April 10, 2024.
