Walk A Mile in Her Shoes
Come out to participate and show support for Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: The International Men's March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence. This event provides men on campus the opportunity to raise awareness for sexual violence against women. The men that choose to participate in this event will get a pair of red heels and literally walk a mile in her shoes.
Date: Wednesday, March 18, 2015
Time: 3:00 P.M.
Location: Brock Commons
Katie Koestner will also be in attendance as the guest speaker. Koestner created the Take Back the Night Foundation and appeared on the cover of TIME Magazine as the first survivor of date rape to publicly speak out in 1999.
The organization with the most participants in this event will have their name displayed on a 3 foot tall red shoe until next year’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes!

The Clothesline Project
The Clothesline Project is a three day event that emphasizes the reality of sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and other forms of domestic violence and sexual misconduct. One can expect to see an array of T-shirts hung on a clothesline that voice testimonies of survivors. This is a silent event that also pays tribute to victims through bells, chimes, and whistles that correlate with the statistics of assaults, attempts, and deaths. There are stations with resource and awareness information, reflection opportunities, and the opportunity to create a shirt of your own. The Student Health & Wellness Center welcomes T-shirt donations; either a blank shirt or one that has already been created for the event.
All shirts are property of the Student Health & Wellness Center.
