Dr. Walls-McKay relocated from Pittsburgh to join the Longwood community in 1995 and now serves as the Director of the Counseling Center. Maureen views working with students as they create the life they desire and deserve, a privilege. She enjoys teaching the Longwood Seminar and classes in the College and Community Counseling graduate program and is proud to be the advisor for the Relay for Life campus event. Regular campus sightings of Maureen would include an early morning spinning class and eating in the d-hall most every day at noon.
The joys associated with Maureen’s personal life include a wonderful husband (Bluegrass Billy), two yellow labs (Mason and Harley), a cat (Summer June Bug), many fabulous friends, and their extended family. They enjoy hosting themed dinner parties, and scouting about for antiques and interesting diners. “Green Maureen” as she is called by her favorite seven year old, strives to be more sustainable with each day and can be seen commuting on three-wheeled scooter whenever possible.
