• Use when the University suspends operations (and announces closure prior to normal business hours):

"Longwood University will be closed today from 12:01 a.m. until midnight. Designated essential employees are expected to report for work."

• Use when the University postpones or delays normal business hours:

"Longwood University has delayed opening until (time). Designated essential employees are expected to report for work."

• Use when the University suspends operations during normal working hours:

"Longwood University will close today at (time)."

• Use when severe weather or emergency does not force closure or delay of normal business:

"Longwood University will remain open for normal business today."
