Officer Adam Newcomb became a member of the Longwood University Police Department in January of 2011. He began his law enforcement career in Virginia with the Town Of Kenbridge. Adam completed basic law enforcement training at the Central Virginia Criminal Justice Academy in 2009. He is a certified intoxilyzer operator through the Virginia Department of Forensic Science and a member of the Virginia Communication Radio Cache; a team responsible for setting up communication systems throughout the state in cases of terrorism, natural disasters, and other emergency management needs.
Officer Newcomb is a resident of Lunenburg County, Virginia where he has served over 8 years as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician for Victoria Fire & Rescue. Officer Newcomb competes in driving competitions sponsored by the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads. In addition, Adam works part time with the Virginia Department of Forestry operating machinery to detain wild land fires. In his spare time Officer Newcomb likes to spend time with his family and friends as well as ride motorcycles.
