Pre-Law Program
Our department's three disciplines have long been recognized as being among the best preparatory fields for a career in the legal profession.
It's no wonder, either. Law requires a tremendous amount of reading, writing, and above all, analysis of information to determine its relevance. The critical thinking that we strive to develop in our majors and minors are based on these very skills.
Preparing Students for Law School
Precisely because Law is such a demanding profession, the pre-Law program aims to prepare students from their arrival at Longwood as to how best to prepare for Law School. This includes such concrete things as preparing to take the LSAT as well as the mentoring that can narrow down (or expand) your list of possible law schools, help with applications, guide you towards appropriate internships, and more.
For more information, contact the director of our Pre-Law program, Dr. Mary Carver, via e-mail (carverml@longwood.edu) or at 434.395.2924.
