Orientation and Registration Program
Transfer students entering Longwood in Fall 2015 must attend one of our Summer Orientation and Registration dates.
Transfer Orientation and Registration dates:
- Wednesday, May 27, 2015
- Friday, July 31, 2015 (recommended)
- Thursday, August 20, 2015 (abbreviated program)
July 31st Transfer Orientation and Registration will begin around 7:45AM and end by 5:30PM. The August 20th Orientation program is an abbreviated program designed only for students who are unable to attend earlier sessions.
Transfer students who did not attend Orientation on Wednesday, May 27th should have received an e-mail to their Live Mail account on Tuesday, June 16th with instructions for how to register to attend the July or August Orientation.
Transfer students who have recently paid their Admissions Deposit may need to wait up to 1 week after the deposit has been processed to receive the e-mail with instructions on how to register online for Orientation.
HOLIDAY CLOSING: Longwood University will be closed on Thursday, July 3rd
At Orientation & Registration, incoming students have the opportunity to hear from various campus offices about the services that they provide, as well as requirements they will need for their first semester, such as laptops. During the program, students register for their Fall 2015 classes.
There is a transitional fee of $165 associated with Orientation & Registration. This covers all of the First Year Experience initiatives that we provide to support students' transitions, including all of the staff, materials, meals, programs, and advising during Orientation & Registration, New Lancer Days, and TransFORM. Incoming students attending the July and August Orientations will pay the transitional fee online using a credit card when registering to attend.
Up to two guests per students are allowed to attend Orientation & Registration at no additional fee. Additional guests are allowed to attend for a fee of $25 each to cover the cost of meals during the day. Additional guest fees may be paid in cash, check, or money order payable to Longwood University on the day of Orientation at check-in.
Students who have already paid the $165 transitional fee or who have received a transitional fee waiver will require special instructions to bypass the payment requirement in our online registration system.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Office of First Year Experience and Family Programs at 434.395.2414 or at email@example.com.
