Orientation is your first official event as a Lancer! Get ready to meet other new students and learn about campus offices and the services they provide. You'll also receive your class schedule!

You’ll learn all you need to know to make a successful transition to campus—plus:

  • you’ll meet with faculty and other students in your major
  • have a chance to have an honest conversation with current students
  • visit the support offices that will help you along on your Longwood journey

(Not sure of your registered Orientation day? Call (434) 395-2414 or email us at studentsuccess@longwood.edu.)

Course Registration

Before Orientation, we'll send you information through Longwood Live Mail about how to register online for courses in your major. Then you'll meet with your department chair, or a department faculty representative, to talk about your degree plan.

Your department chair may reach out to you first, to help build the best schedule, but either way, we'll be in touch. Please check your Longwood Live Mail regularly so that you can register for classes.
