First Year Students

Orientation Programs

First Year students entering Longwood in must attend one of the following Orientation dates listed below.

  • Friday, June 10, 2016
  • Saturday, June 11, 2016
  • Monday, June 13, 2016
  • Wednesday, June 15, 2016
  • Friday, June 17, 2016
  • Saturday, June 18, 2016

The online registration process will ask students to complete an academic questionnaire about possible courses they might be interested in taking while at Longwood. Students should answer these questions as honestly as possible. Responses to this questionnaire may be referenced by a Longwood faculty member when creating an individualized fall 2016 course schedule for the student. Completion of this academic questionnaire is required before the student can reserve a date in an Orientation session.

Please plan for the program to begin at 8:00am and conclude around 5:00pm. Parking is available in the Wynne Parking lot and shuttles will be available to take students and their guests from the parking lot to the check-in location.

There is no up-front cost for students to attend the Orientation program as it will be covered in the incoming student transitional fee of $225 billed to their student account.  Students may bring guests with them as long as they are registered to attend the Orientation program. Also, there is no additional fee for guest to attend!

At Orientation, incoming students have the opportunity to hear from various campus offices about the services that they provide, requirements they will need for their first semester, and receive their fall 2016 course schedule.
