Arrival Information
International Students are encouraged to take advantage of the free transportation to Longwood University from Richmond International Airport (RIC) that is provided at the beginning of each semester. If you wish to use this transportation you must arrive at Richmond International Airport on the scheduled date and send your flight information to International Student Advisor Brian Bolton at least one month in advance. The 2013-2014 academic year schedule is below:
Fall 2013
Arrival: August 19
Departure: December 14
Spring 2014
Arrival: January 8
Departure: May 3
Important Notes:
- You cannot arrive in the United States after the program start date on your I-20 or DS-2019 unless you receive a letter of approval from Longwood University!
- You have a 30-day grace period after the end date listed on your DS-2019 (or 60 days if you have an I-20) during which you may remain in the United States on your student visa.
Taxi Information
If you do not arrive at Longwood University on the scheduled free transportation date, then you must make alternative arrangements for transportation. You may be picked up by a friend or family member, or you may hire a taxi to take you to Farmville. However, please be advised that Longwood University is at least a one hour drive from Richmond International Airport, and that hiring a taxi will be very expensive.
