Student Health & Wellness Center

At the Student Health & Wellness Center, you will be seen by advanced practice clinicians (nurse practitioners and physician assistants) that assess and treat many common acute health conditions affecting the college health population, which may also be seen in a family physician's office.  In Virginia, Advanced Practice Clinicians can prescribe medications.  For your health education and promotion program needs, you will be assisted by our Wellness Coordinator who is a Certified Health Education Specialist.

Where to Find Us

The Student Health & Wellness Center is located on the top floor of the Health and Fitness Center. Enter from the outside entrance on the South face of the building through doors marked Counseling Center and Health and Wellness Center.

SHWC News

 March 24-26, 2015

10am-3pm

The STU (Lankford Student Union)

    • Prepare for a silent experience except for the alarms (bells, whistles, and chimes) that represent the shocking statistics related to sexual misconduct in the United States.  There will be a clothesline display of T-shirts created by survivors, their friends, loved ones and from those who simply want to have their "voices heard".  There will also be in person and written resources, a designated space for reflection, and a private space for those who want to create a shirt.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Tell someone about the event.  It's on us and it's time to act.  Longwood, Step Up!  www.clotheslineproject.org
  • Wellness Wednesdays continue!

    • Every 3rd Wednesday, the Southside Center for Violence Prevention, Inc. has office hours here in The Well.  madelineshouse.org/
    • Every 4th Wednesday, the Prince Edward County Health Department has a family planning/STI screening clinic for Longwood students.  Call 434-392-8187 to schedule an appointment.
  • Monthly Stall News issues will now be written by our new Intern, Dana Peagler, CPE!
  • We will offer FREE Chair Massages during exam week thanks to the PHEs!  Sign up in April.
  • Do you need an alcohol risk management, suicide prevention, or bystander intervention program for your student group?  We have the answer.  Sign up to host a TiPS!, SafeTalk, or Step Up! training.  Email Sasha Johnson, Wellness Coordinator at johnsonss@longwood.edu.  Click HERE for more information.
