Elizabeth Garcia, a Longwood student completing her program in liberal studies, elementary education at the New College Institute in Martinsville, wrote a grant during her summer internship with Smart Beginnings.  Elizabeth was able to obtain enough books for four classroom libraries at Piedmont Child Care through the grant.  Elizabeth's work is a great example of citizen leadership in action!
