The Digital Education Collaborative (DEC) directs a policy and training framework to enhance online education by ensuring quality, academic rigor and consistency.
The DEC's main goals are the following:
- to facilitate efficient and productive campus partnerships to allow for the best use of institutional resources,
- help to thoughtfully and carefully allow Longwood to expand enrollment with little impact to campus infastructure or atmosphere,
- to promote hybrid/blended education by emphasizing the benefits of online learning and re-envisioning face-to-face class connections,
- and help to prepare students for 21st century careers and digital citizenship.
To promote quality online and blended education on campus, the DEC has adopted the standards and practices of Quality Matters www.qmprogram.org.
