The Digital Education Collaborative (DEC) directs a policy and training framework to enhance online education by ensuring quality, academic rigor and consistency. 

The DEC's main goals are the following:

• to facilitate efficient and productive campus partnerships to allow for the best use of institutional resources,
• help to thoughtfully and carefully allow Longwood to expand enrollment with little impact to campus infastructure or atmosphere,
• to promote hybrid/blended education by emphasizing the benefits of online learning and re-envisioning face-to-face class connections,
• and help to prepare students for 21^st century careers and digital citizenship. 

To promote quality online and blended education on campus, the DEC has adopted the standards and practices of Quality Matters www.qmprogram.org.
