Dr. Blauvelt is a career educator; he has served as a college faculty member, department chair, and program coordinator. He received his Ph.D in Curriculum & Instruction in Physical Education from Michigan State University, his Master's degree in Physical Education from Springfield College, and his BA degree in English Literature from Michigan State University.
Before coming to Longwood, Dr. Blauvelt served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras before assuming the role of faculty and department chair at the Escuela Superior del Profesorado in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
