Amanda Basinger is a graduate student who will be receiving her Master’s of Science degree in physical and health education PK-12 in May 2013. She has greatly enjoyed her past 5 years here at Longwood University being involved as a residential assistant, desk aide, and a member of P.H.E.T.E First. She looks forward to graduating and using her degree to teach elementary physical education in the surrounding area.
Katie Giles is a senior Athletic Training student. She is currently the president of the Longwood Athletic Trainers' Association and the Vice President of Scholarship for Sigma Kappa sorority. Katie is also a library student assistant, a member of Phi Kappa Phi honors society, and a peer mentor. In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her puppy named Oliver.
Delano Green is from Fredricksburg, Virginia. He attended James Monroe High School and spent 6 months at Fork Union Military Academy as a postgraduate student. After graduating from Temple University, he is currently in his second year of Graduate School on the "dual track" receiving his Master's Degree in School Counseling, Community and College. Delano is the President of the Call Me Mister Program at Longwood University and is looking forward to finishing his "pursuit of happiness" with a Masters' of Science degree in School Counseling, Community and College December 2014.
Allyson Rubino is a first year graduate student working towards becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist. She will be graduating in May 2015 with a Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Allyson is a New Jersey native who received her undergraduate degree from James Madison University in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Exceptional Education. In her free time, she enjoys taking Zumba classes at the university gym, shopping, and walking High Bridge Trail. Allyson is grateful to be a Lancer who is surrounded with such supportive students and faculty members.
Sherilyn Smith began attending Longwood University fall 2013 after transferring from John Tyler Community College where she earned her Associates Degree. She is majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSDS) and will earn her Bachelor’s Degree in the spring of 2015.
