Biology is the study of life from its most simplest form of a cell to one of the most complex creatures, human beings. Biology includes the study of how organisms are structured from their most basic element, DNA, to how they function as living organisms. Longwood has several pre-professional biology programs, including Dental Hygiene, Pre-Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Medical Technology, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Medical, Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Veterinary Medicine, Pre-Pharmacy, and Physician Assistant. Longwood involves the following curriculum in order to prepare students for a career in Biology: human anatomy and physiology, botany, microbiology, zoology, ecology, among others.
