Dr. Joong-Kun (Jay) Cho, Ph.D.
Dr. Jay Cho is an Assistant Professor of Management and Marketing in the College of Business and Economics at Longwood University. Dr. Cho received his Ph.D. and MBA from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR, MS from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, and BA from the Korea Military Academy in Seoul, Korea. Previously, Dr. Cho had served in the Korean and U.S. Army as a professional officer over 22 years. He served in Korean Embassy in Washington D.C., Army Command and General Staff College in Ft. Leavenworth, KS and Air Defense School in Ft. Bliss, TX. He also traveled over twenty countries for official military duty assignments. He is active in presenting scholarly papers at academic and professional conferences in the U.S.A., Europe and Asia. He has published in journals such as International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, Journal of Transportation Management, Journal of Contemporary Business Issues, and Services Marketing Quarterly. His primary research interests are in the area of global supply chain management, third party logistics and outsourcing, seaport security and safety, performance measurement scale development, and logistics sustainability issues. Dr. Cho taught marketing, logistics and supply chain management courses in Georgia Southern University and NC A&T State Universitybefore join Longwood University.
