Nearly two dozen Longwood students traveled to Richmond on Tuesday, January 13, to support a bill that would close the gun-show loophole that allows people to acquire firearms with limited or no background checks for gun purchases made at gun shows.
The Virginia Crime Commission, which advises the General Assembly, voted in a deadlock (6-6) on whether to recommend legislation to close the loophole. Further discussion is expected in the General Assembly.
A story and photo appeared in the Richmond Times-Dispatch on p. B-1 of the Metro Section (1.14.09). The story can also be accessed online.
