A commentary by Longwood's David Coles and Larissa Smith Fergeson was featured in the Richmond Times-Dispatch

The Sunday Richmond Times-Dispatch (10.18.09) featured a front page story in the commentary section, co-written by Longwood's David J. Coles, associate professor of history and Larissa Smith Fergeson, associate professor of history.  The story, "John Brown's Raid Ignited War of Liberation and Loss," recognizes the significance and 150th anniversary of John Brown's Raid in Harpers Ferry, Va.
