Dr. Tim Pierson recently presented the Spring 2010 Raines Colloquium at Michigan State University (MSU)
April 16, 2010
Dr. Tim Pierson, Vice President for Student Affairs, recently presented the Spring 2010 Raines Colloquium at Michigan State University (MSU). Dr. Pierson, who once worked in student affairs at MSU and received his doctorate there, spoke April 8 on "Student and Academic Affairs: Can We Share the Sandbox?"
The Raines Colloquium, originally presented once a year and now presented twice annually, is sponsored by MSU's student affairs administration program, a master's degree program that is part of the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education program in the College of Education. The colloquium honors the significant contributions of the late Max Raines, one of the founders of the student affairs administration program, to the Department of Educational Administration, the College of Education, MSU, and the field of student affairs in higher education.
Dr. Pierson worked at MSU from 1975 to 1982, serving the last three years as director of Student Affairs for the Lyman Briggs Residential College, and earned a Ph.D. in administration and higher education there in 1983.
