Recent Longwood graduates Kendall Beebe, Leigh Cupitt and Max Duchaine were honored at a special breakfast June 28 at the Governor's Mansion. Beebe, Cupitt and Duchaine were recognized for creating the winning entry in the College Campus Safety and Anti-Violence Public Service Announcement (PSA) Challenge held by the Governor's Office for Substance Abuse and Prevention last fall.

Secretary Marla Decker and Gov. Bob McDonnell thanked the former students for their hard work and creativity. Also attending the breakfast were Longwood Interim President Marge Connelly and Board of Visitors Rector Marianne Radcliff.

Sasha Trent Johnson, Longwood's wellness coordinator, also attended the celebration. Johnson served as an advisor and mentor for the students as they developed the video.

The Longwood video highlights the consequences of alcohol abuse.
