Professor appointed to Board of Education advisory committee

Dr. Stephen C. Keith, assistant professor of education, has been appointed to the Virginia Board of Education's Virginia Advisory Committee for the Education of the Gifted. Keith will serve three years on the committee.

The committee is composed of representatives from school divisions, professional organizations, institutions of higher education, Governor's Schools, business and industry, and parent groups.

Keith had previously served on the state advisory board from 1991-2001. Locally, he was the co-chair for the Prince Edward County Public Schools Gifted Advisory Committee for four years. He also developed the first program for the gifted in Central America as a volunteer consultant in Honduras.
