English professor publishes third book
June 7, 2012
Dr. E. Derek Taylor, professor of English, is a co-editor of the recently published book Swiftly Sterneward: Essays on Laurence Sterne and His Times in Honor of Melvyn New.
Taylor, one of three co-editors, also contributed one of the 13 essays in the book, published by the University of Delaware Press in honor of Dr. Melvyn New, professor emeritus at the University of Florida. New, the most prominent scholar on 18th century novelist Laurence Sterne, was Taylor's dissertation director. Taylor and New still collaborate.
Swiftly Sterneward is Taylor's third book. He is the author of Reason and Religion in "Clarissa," published in 2009. Taylor and New co-edited Mary Astell and John Norris: Letters Concerning the Love of God, published in 2005.
