Thanks to the Design Lab at Longwood University, Meals on Wheels (MOW) has a fresh, new logo. Professor Chris Register's class created the new Meals on Wheels logo within four weeks. Then on Thursday, October 13, the MOW Board of Directors unanimously approved the new logo.

The design team of Sara Schu, Kaitlyn Smith, and Emily Staskiel brainstormed ideas and each created her own customized logo concept. The three different concepts were presented to Executive Director, Cindy Cave, who shared them with several Board members. The preferred logo, designed by Kaitlyn Smith, was presented to the full Board for approval.

"It was fun working with food and wheels", said Emily Staskiel.  According to Cindy Cave, "We're so fortunate to have been able to work with this level of creative talent right here at Longwood. Chris Register's Design Lab students listened to what we wanted and delivered an amazing final product. We couldn't be happier!"

Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing and delivering balanced, nutritious meals to the elderly, disabled and home-bound who have no reliable means of obtaining their daily food requirements. CENTRA Southside Community Hospital prepares the meals, and volunteers provide meal delivery service Monday through Friday. A 15-member Board of Directors serves as the governing body.
