August 10, 2011

Forbes 2011 Top Colleges

For the second year, Longwood University is included as one of the best colleges in the United States in the annual survey published by Forbes magazine.  The list of 650 undergraduate institutions, compiled with research from the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, is based on 11 factors measuring the quality of the education each school provides, the experiences of its students, and the achievements of its graduates. Longwood is ranked 628 out of 650 colleges across the nation that made the list, which represents the top 20 percent of all undergraduate institutions.

In an op-ed, Forbes staff writer Michel Noer wrote, "Our annual ranking of the 650 best undergraduate institutions focuses on the things that matter the most to students: quality of teaching, great career prospects, graduation rates and low levels of debt."
