Longwood professors Dr. Audrey Church, associate professor and coordinator of the School Library Media Program, and Frances Reeve, associate professor in the School Library Media Program, are co-editors the November/December 2011 issue of Knowledge Quest, a bimonthly publication of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), which is a division of the American Library Association. Church and Reeve teach in Longwood's College of Education and Human Services.

The current issue features articles on "The Solo Librarian" and addresses cuts to education funding throughout the country, which affects many school librarians who are being asked to do "more with less." The publication also includes feature stories of librarians from rural, suburban, urban, and different regions of the country, and addresses resources available to assist the solo librarian in tough economic times.

Selected articles and information about the issue can be accessed at http://www.ala.org/aasl/aaslpubsandjournals/knowledgequest/knowledgequest

The site also features a blog post by Reeve and a podcast by Church who will present a webinar on The Solo Librarian for AASL members on December 13.

Knowledge Quest is devoted to offering substantive information to assist building-level school librarians, supervisors, library educators, and other decision makers concerned with the development of school library programs and services. Articles address the integration of theory and practice in school librarianship and new developments in education, learning theory, and relevant disciplines.
