June 30, 2011

Longwood University

Dr. Charles White, assistant professor of management in the College of Business and Economics, has been named a 2011 Outstanding Reviewer by the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management (AOM).  Fewer than 10 percent of scholars who review papers for the AOM are recognized with this honor.  The criteria for selection includes the number of reviews completed, the timeliness of the reviews, and the amount and quality of the feedback provided to authors.  The announcement from the AOM stated that Dr. White "provided exceptionally high quality feedback and ... performed exceptional service by reviewing a large number of papers, often on very short notice."

The Academy of Management is a leading professional association for scholars dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and organizations.  Founded in 1936 by two professors, the Academy of Management is the oldest and largest scholarly management association in the world. Today, the Academy is the professional home for 19,518 members from 110 nations.

Dr. White joined the Longwood faculty in 2010. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Alabama.
