Longwood launches new web site for community information

Longwood University recently launched “Neighbors,” a new web page that is devoted to news, announcements, and information that is important to the Farmville community. The web page provides up-to-date campus announcements and alerts that affect the Farmville community, daily calendar information, featured news items, and links to campus offices, directories, Lancer athletics, and more. The page can be accessed at www.longwood.edu/neighbors.htm.

“We are pleased to be able to offer the Neighbors website as just one more way for Longwood and the surrounding community to stay connected,” said Dr. Tim Pierson, vice president for student affairs. “We hope this website will serve as an additional communication vehicle so that our neighbors can feel informed and knowledgeable about what is going on at Longwood.”

The “Neighbors” page is an extension of Longwood’s official web site, www.longwood.edu, which recently received a major redesign. The new site, launched in August, has an updated design and features enhanced usability with multiple navigation methods. Other improvements include more photography, frequently updated content, and news feeds that can automatically deliver updated content to the user without visiting the site.
