Cris Arbo to speak at Longwood University

Children’s book illustrator Cris Arbo will discuss her work on Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m. in the atrium of Greenwood Library at Longwood University. The free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Janet D. Greenwood Library. A reception will begin at 6 p.m. and a book signing will follow the lecture. Those planning to attend should RSVP by calling 395.2431.

During the event Arbo will preview her current work in progress, In the Trees, Honeybees, with a display of sketches and finished paintings. Arbo, who lives in Buckingham County, has illustrated several award-winning books, including All Around Me, I See; The Dandelion Seed; and In a Nutshell. She also has worked as a background artist on animated feature films, cartoons and TV commercials in New York City and London. She received her B.A. degree with a major in arts and minor in theatre arts from William Paterson University in New Jersey.

The mission of the Friends of the Janet D. Greenwood Library is to support library services, facilities and collection development activities through fund raising events, membership and social gatherings.
